Future Light is influenced by the meandering pathway through CDSea. A winding stream of gentle light is made up of massed individual Fireflies creating flickering points of light assembled and reflected on a stainless‐steel base, shaped like the calyx of a plant. Designed to embody the concept of ‘Putuwa’ – from the language of the Gadigal people of the Sydney area meaning to warm one’s hands by the fire to express love and compassion – Future Light transmits a sense of empathy and happiness. I believe that light is a wonderful medium to connect mind, body and soul with the natural environment.
