Light

Munro’s fourth solo US exhibition opened at the Hermitage Museum and Gardens, Norfolk, Virginia in 2014.

Inspired by Hermitage’s unique location by the sea, the exhibition was a ten piece collection of works, three of which were shown for the first time in the US.

Two of the artworks Waves and Lighthouse were created specifically by Munro in response to the unique land and seascapes surrounding the Museum and Gardens.  Munro’s iconic installations Field of Light and Water-Towers had been re-imagined for the unique spaces offered by the Hermitage.

The Museum and Gardens also debuted Ferryman’s Crossing II in the Mansion,  Munro’s exploration into language and light.

Light Shower, an interior artwork and permanent acquisition was hung in the entrance hall to the mansion.
