The Light Shower installation at Salisbury Cathedral establishes a unifying link between the breathtaking architectural features of the building, where the transepts intersect with the nave. The structure allows for the suspension of an almost invisible wire matrix that spans the whole area, which is central to the building, midway between congregation and clergy. My intention was to create something that had a gentle, ethereal quality without gimmick or glitz, creating a cascading shower of light that acts as a conduit and encourages both visitors and worshippers to see this wonderful building in a new light.
