Media (stainless steel lilies)
Time and Again stems from a return visit I made to Uluru in 2016, and my realization that in 24 years the rock was seemingly unchanged. This artwork explores my interest in the concept of ‘time’ and is a personal reflection and appreciation that ‘time present’ is linked to a significant past and an as yet undefined future. The work is also synonymous with the history of giant waterlily cultivation at Chatsworth House, Derbyshire, lilies being a theme in other works of mine. Each steel lily is etched with the Morse Code symbol for C, the speed of light and the infinity symbol, and 108 lilies ‘float’ in the Canal Pond.
