Moon Harvest

Mixed media (bales, projected light, gobo)

This site-specific installation is inspired by the term ‘Harvest Moon’ and the romantic images the term evokes.  From my home in rural Wiltshire, I’m mindful that for farmers the expression once had a more pragmatic meaning, referring to harvesting by the light of the moon. Living in the country piques one’s awareness of the seasonal calendar and how it affects the landscape.  Employing 20 cylindrical bales of hay as canvases for light, scattered through the Aviary Glade of Waddesdon Manor, Buckinghamshire this visual pun yields a bumper crop of moons.
