Mixed media (fluorescent tubes, acrylic, electric fencers, light)
On his first visit Munro was inspired by the semi-circular board walk structure that crosses the tidal grasses at the Hermitage Museum and Garden, the idea to create ‘Waves’ came to mind. Munro reflects on his first response to the structure: ‘Architectural structures often have a connection with light; they either require lighting; becoming a subject in themselves or they become a foundation to light other pieces from. In this instance the curved walkway spoke to me. I immediately spotted a visual rhythm to the structural form which reminded me of waves’.
