Munro’s fourth solo US exhibition opens on 12 October through January 10 2015 at Hermitage Museum and Gardens, Norfolk, Virginia from October 2014.
Inspired by Hermitage’s unique location by the sea, the exhibition is a ten piece collection of works, three of which will have be shown for the first time in the US.
Two of the artworks Wave and Lighthouse were created specifically by Munro in response to the unique land and seascapes surrounding the Museum and Gardens. Munro’s iconic installations Field of Light and Water-Towers have been re-imagined for the unique spaces offered by the Hermitage.
The Museum and Gardens will also debut Ferryman’s Crossing II in the Mansion, Munro’s recent exploration onto language and light.
Light Shower, an interior artwork and permanent acquisition will be hung in the entrance hall to the mansion.
